Babies and toddlers have nutrition needs that are fulfilled by all the five food groups – vegetables, grains, proteins, fruits and essential fats.

Each food group has different nutrients, which your child’s body needs to grow and work properly. That’s why we need to eat a range of foods from across all five food groups.

It is important to give healthy foods, natural and with tasty flavour preferably organic with no additives. This ensure that the babies get all the nutrients that are essential for learning, growth and development.

Avoid foods high in salt, saturated fat and sugar, foods low in fibre and nutrients, and drinks with caffeine and lots of sugar.
