Designed for babies weighing up to 1,200 grams Are specially designed for premature and low birth weight babies. A team of highly skilled professionals orthodontists, orthopaedists, neonatologists and ICU Nursing Staff have all contributed to the design and development of the MAM Preemie range. Are shaped to ensure good positioning of the jaws during sucking to allow their proper growth. Ensure proper function of the tongue, thus assisting the correct development of the oral cavity. Are designed to promote equilibrium of the orofacial muscles, which together with developing the correct tongue activity, stimulates proper nasal breathing and develops the nasopharyngeal airway. Are ultra-soft and gentle to the skin providing maximum comfort to these vulnerable babies. Can be autoclaved, to ensure a sterile condition. Can be used with oral and nasal tubing, as two grooves can be easily cut in the unique soft silicone shield by clinical staff when required. Are universally adaptable to different weights and shapes of babies´ mouth. The border/edges of the soft silicone shield can be cut to exactly match the contour of individual babies´faces.
